Dear Mr.Worth,

We are returning to you one of the new type tyres which has done about 300 miles of very hard motoring. You will see what has happened.

When absolutely new the tyres had a noticeable whine at all speeds which would have to be eliminated. We cannot yet send you skid-pan figures because the pan has temporarily been camouflaged for A.R.P. reasons.

We should like to try a set (4) tyres of your usual 6½ x 16 Super pattern but with continuous shoulders knife cut like the Silent 6½ x 17 tyre. Dunlops frequently do this by hand. Can you send some such tyres for test ? We think they should meet our requirements.

Yours sincerely,
