In addition to our own starter and ignition schemes we now have for the immediate future:-

(1) Smith dynamo cutting in sooner, more silent, and with less wires.

(2) Smith cutout a more accurate and reliable appliance.

(3) R.R. switchboard with better switches etc. for instrument board.

(4) R.R. distribution board, as mentioned above, to be fitted on front of dashboard.

(5) R.R. locked ignition switch fitting with connection socket for inspection lamp, and press button for instrument light.

Drawings for items 3, 4, and 5 have been made at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town.

A simple and comprehensive diagram of this R.R. wiring has been made and will be published when this new installation is adopted.

X.3720. X.3740. X.3562. X.4165. With the new three speed box it has been arranged to fit a more orthodox scheme of starter geared to the flywheel. This was drawn at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town soon after the three speed box was drawn with its central control levers LEFT HAND STEERING.

I have always considered that we ought to supply cars with L.H. steering for use in countries where they drive on the right-hand side of the road. This scheme is particularly adapted for central change speed levers, and great progress is being made to supply complete working drawings and model chassis embodying -

9(1) Left hand steering. (3) Central control levers
(2) Three speed box. (4) flywheel geared starter
(5) RR designed & constructed electrical installation entirely except dynamo, cutout, batteries and lamps.
(6) Slightly increased length of torque tube.
