X3562 To C.J. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to R.R. of America Inc. (For the attention of OY?) R12/G30.12.20. X.3562. X.4059. X.3720. RE STEERING. On receiving the cars from America with left hand steering in this right hand country it makes me more than ever convinced of the urgency of supplying to countries driving in the opposite side of the road from our own, chassis with left hand steering. I am of the opinion that people used to right hand steering may not like central change speed levers, in spite of the advantage to the coachbuilders, and the simpler construction it gives to the chassis builders. If this should prove true it will be much regretted by me as the three speed central change is so simple, good, and inexpensive. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
