Continental Phantom III Steering.

Further to our memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.3/JH.7.9.36, we are now able to specify the angle between the axis of the roller follower and the axis of the cam. This should be 6° 18'.

We wish to add the following modifications to the steering gear in order to reduce weight :-

(1) Cover FW.145 in dural instead of steel.
(2) Sleeve FW.141 " " " "
(3) Cover F.54137 " " " "
(4) Outer column tube FW.412 to be in 18 gauge (0.048) material instead of 13 gauge (0.092).
(5) Bottom flange for outer tube modified to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}239 to reduce weight.
