X.3468 Re 40/50 Chassis - Gear Box Undershield.
We have received the Gear Box Undershield some days ago, but as there was no intimation what it was for, we did not deal with it at once. We now understand from Mr Clough that it refers to the bolt holes which fasten the undershield to the frame, which have been found to wear badly, and that they have been reinforced by big aluminium angle brackets.
We agree to this modification both for the 50 sets and for standard, until further notice, as we consider that it cannot do any harm, and is certain to do good as regards saving the undershield from wear.
We agree that the alteration does not need a Standardisation Sheet as there can be no consequential results except good ones.
