X3468 [Struck through text] Mr. Olley. Mr. Rowledge. Mr. Platford. Mr. Hives. C. to H.E. X3468 RE 40/50 CHASSIS - UNDERSHIELDS. In order to close up the opening in the off-side front engine guard E.18384 under the outlet pipe from the Radiator bottom tank on the "N" Series chassis with the 1" higher Radiator, it is proposed to fit an aluminium strip 1.250 wide X 3.000 long across the opening as shown on sketch below on the guards which have been finished and ready for erection. The drawing E.18384 is being altered to show this additional strip formed in the bent up portion in the guard for future production. Will Mr Dale arrange to modify a batch of these parts as quickly as possible for immediate erection. With regard to the increased opening round the starting handle brackets it should be noted that as several of the experimental cars with the 1" higher radiator have done extensive trials without any trouble, it is not proposed at present to make any alterations at this point.
