To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from BJ. Copy to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Cast Dash and Bonnet Design. BJ28/E29/11/26 With reference to R2/M26/11/26, we are not quite clear exactly what is the effect of the cast dash. I shall be at Derby to-morrow evening. Please send a note to the Hotel explaining the following points so that I may speak to you if necessary on Wednesday morning: 1. Has the cast dash any connection with the step dash which it was stated in R1/M16/11/25 had been abandoned? 2. Will the step dash have any effect on the length of the bonnet or the carriage body? 3. What is the difference between the present dash and the cast dash? 4. Have Sales officials inspected the cast dash from the point of view of considering whether it should be adopted from the customer's standpoint? If so, when and where? 5. Is there any extra cost compared to the present standard? 6. Have we agreed that it can be brought in? On what series could it be adopted? 7. Have Sales officials inspected the bonnet fastenings, locks, etc. referred to in R's memo.? BJ. | ||
