STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts. SOFT COPPER WASHER EXPANDED INTO EXISTING RADIATOR CAP TO REPLACE RUBBER WASHER.
Origin. The rubber washer swells and in some cases prevents the operation of the pressure valve. In a state the radiator is liable to burst when the water boils.
Experimental Test Report. Copper washers are now fitted to 19-EX, 20-EX, 22-EX, and 25-EX. cars. In all cases the caps appear to be satisfactory.
Road Test Report. No water leaks on to the top of the radiator under road conditions.
