Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 13th instant and regret to hear that you have had trouble with the rubber rollers. We are afraid that we cannot conveniently widen these, but we can, no doubt, get a harder rubber, if you think that will be suitable. Unfortunately, we had to submit these to you before we had had an opportunity of testing them properly ourselves and personally we think it would be safer to carry on with the soft grey fibre which we are now using as standard until we have had an opportunity to do more extensive tests with rubber.
