Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 18th instant and ours of yesterday, we would confirm that initial attempt at rectifying Cams on the lines discussed with your Mr. Goodall was not successful. We are, however, attempting to rectify a further Cam to-day.

To assist your Chassis building programme, and as we understand that you have no supplies of Cams, a batch of Cams commenced manufacture yesterday, but as already advised, these have to be made throughout and it is doubtful whether supplies of finished Cams will be through Inspection before Friday of this week; this, of course, only being possible by the fact that we are working night shift on the same with a view to assisting acceleration of despatch.

We would again place on record our grave concern at the number of Cams that you find it necessary to reject, in view of the fact that we here are satisfied that these Cams are better in every respect than the original sample Cams supplied to your Experimental Department (against which we quoted you) and, of course, first supplies.

It is appreciated that from time to time, for your Cars, a still finer precision job is desired, and we here are prepared to do everything possible to give you as near as we can a 100% article, but as from time to time you have insisted on a finished article to still finer limits, it has left us with Cams rejected by you and certain float stocks here.

This quantity now has reached an alarming total and represents a very considerable sum to us. If the Cams cannot be rectified by the methods we are now trying, they will become useless stock as they cannot be used in any other direction as this Cam is special to you as regards size and dimensions. Under the circumstances we think that you should agree to compensate us in some way as, of course, in our prepared costs for quotations, such circumstances have occurred that were not taken into consideration, and due to the amount of bad stock now held by us, it is doubtful whether your orders to date have showed us any profit.

We are, Yours faithfully,
for ADAMANT ENGINEERING CO.LTD.
