LEFT-HAND SS.{S. Smith}
HAND BRAKE COMPENSATOR.

We send herewith Ns.{Norman Scott} ch. 2835 shewing how we suggest the hand brake differential should be arranged.

The differential is the existing SS.{S. Smith} hand brake one with different lengths of tube orazed in, and a longer sheet metal lever. We suggest that it might be carried by a steel forged bracket from the cross member, or alternatively by a sheet metal bracket in tension from the cross.

We think that the steel forging is likely to be favoured and suggest that it should be proceeded with.

We believe that this is all you are waiting of the brake differentials, as that for the foot brake is exactly like the R.H. chassis. Except that since Mr. Burton's layouts were made the ratio of the direct braking has been altered, and this necessitates us sending you further information as to the run of the rod between the pedal, the servo, and the differential.
