re CARS FITTED WITH WIRELESS
-------------------------

There seems to be a definite move now for a considerable number of our complete cars to be turned out with wireless fitted, and we feel that there are some possible detrimental effects which may be caused by this wireless in regard to the general running of the car.

We have received a definite complaint from one of our customers, whose car has been running satisfactorily for some time but after fitting wireless he experienced trouble with the ignition plugs over-oiling, and on our suggestion confirmed that when the wireless parts were removed the over-oiling ceased.

Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} also reports that he has experienced similar trouble on three Phantom II cars which have been sent to him for attention of the same complaint.

In taking this up with the wireless people they point out that the trouble is that the coil is too weak to overcome the resistances fitted in the high tension supplied to the ignition plugs, and appear to be prepared to supply a stronger coil.

We consider that action should be taken for the wireless scheme to be tested out on an Experimental car, as it appears necessary for us to be in a position to recommend what action should be taken, both by the wireless people and by customers when wireless is fitted to their cars.
