1203. Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.29/JH. 8th January, 1937. Messrs. Hopkinson & Co.Ltd., Brittania Works, Huddersfield. Dear Sirs, We should be very grateful if you could advise us from your experience of the best metal to be used to minimise distortion for a valve, valve seating, and valve casing body, which is to be used for controlling steam pressure in a car radiator (Pressure up to 10 lbs. sq.in. and temperature up to 115°C). We should also like you to give us some idea of the type of design of valve which is your successful for this type of work - say on locomotive or boiler work.
