| X328 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.19/KW. Exptl. Dept. 14th January, 1936. Messrs. Silentbloc Ltd., Victoria Gardens, Ladbroke Road, Notting Hill Gate, LONDON, W.11. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 13th inst., together with your print F.360106. We think your suggestion for the cross-section of the rubber is very good, but would imagine that the flexibility would suffer, perhaps this is overcome by using a softer grade of rubber. Is the rubber as shown in a compressed state ? Although we prefer your suggested design 'A', it will be far quicker to arrive at the required object by using design 'B'. Will you please therefore let us have 3 units to your suggestion 'B', one having a similar degree of flexibility to our rubber and the others having 2 different increased flexibilities. Thank you for the trouble you have taken in measuring the deflections. We should be very grateful to have load deflection figures for these sample rubbers. We should also like to have the cost per unit for 200 sets of suggestion 'B' to fit into our steel flange. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
