Unfortunately, as mentioned in the report, these tests do not determine the best matrix for any given flight condition, each has to be considered in its application to the machine in question. However, with the aid of these test figures, we have made calculations for cowlings, etc., on various machines, and it appears that generally the best type of matrix to use at the moment is the 7 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Anderton and Brown tube, using lengths of approx. 320 - 450 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}, although 5 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} tubes are beginning to be considered.

I would like to conclude by thanking you again for the trouble which you have taken to assist us, and would say that our only excuse for making such repeated demands on your services is your courteous encouragement to us to do so.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
