I would strongly advise the fitting of the improved spring E.81550 to all the present cars in production and for depots to have these springs to replace the broken springs dealt with. I have tried a number of the present springs and find, when compressed, that they are not concentric with the cone of the washer.

Filter fouling cross member.

We have had two cars brought into Cricklewood by Sales with the filter cap in the rear petrol tank fouling the cross member of the luggage grid. It is impossible to remove the filter in these two cases and it has been necessary to file away the edge of the filter casing to remove same also to prevent it causing squeaking. Sales report that several more are a very close fit, while others have plenty of clearance. It is probably caused by the position of the filter in the tank not being consistent.

Should not the fact that the cross member has to be removed be in the Instruction Book.
