Standardization of Parts.

9-3-14.

The following is a list of parts which it has been proposed to standardize.

X.120 Pistons - Clearance to be filed 400 instead of 30º each side of centre line.

X.477 Cooled Exhaust System. - The Swan Neck pipe is wrapped with asbestos cord, the ends fastened by two clips, the purpose being to overcome recent trouble reported in connection with this part over-heating and charring rear end of bodies.

X.823/4 Light Cast Iron Pistons & Connecting Rods
Previous to the Connecting rods breaking it was proposed that these should be fitted to series 3100. Should the balacing of pistons overcome the Con. Rod trouble we presume these will still be put through on that series. [Handwritten annotation over text: no objection]

X.847. Taper Valve Springs E3820 - Fitted to 7CA for 10,000 mile test. [Handwritten annotation: O.K. send after test]

X.878. Bosch Sparking Plugs 3 point type.

X.879. Anchorage for Rear Springs - Alteration to the above to be tested either on the bumping or slurring test. If successful to be standardized. [Handwritten annotation: yes after test]

X.916. Dermatine Joint Washers. - A set has been despatched to France for 10,000 mile test If successful to be standardized. [Handwritten annotation: yes after test]
