-2- HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.36/KW.13.12.35. From the above figures it is clear that arrangement No.2 is the most satisfactory and this has been instructed for production. However, even in this case, there is not an abundant delivery of oil, and steps are being taken in the design to ensure that this oil is divided equally between the spigot and 3rd speed bearings. If this were not done there would be a risk that all the oil would go to the 3rd speed bush. These tests will have to be repeated on the final production scheme as the experimental arrangement cannot be used in the form in which it was tested, for manufacturing reasons.
