W.O.A Ho. Keen UW x8992. Restaurant-Octobon,. Le-Canadel. Par-Le-Lavandou. (Var) France. 3.4.30 from Dodd. Thank you very much for your letter of the 28th. No date has been fixed for Rs{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary} return, but from what the doctor say's, and from various talks at the villa, it will not be until the third or last week in May. Certainly not before the end of the second week. R has not yet been out in I8.EX since his illness, he is only just getting about the house, his longest walk not having been more than 100yds. We have been fairly busy with the car as our mileage will show, 8,000. since leaving Derby. I have not heard anything these last few days about a visit from Derby, but I understood some time ago that you would be coming down here shortly. I think he would be able to see you anyway, even if he did not take active part in any trials of the cars. We are expecting Mr Sidgreaves at Easter. I have been to Nice this week, Tues & Wed, to have the new windscreen fitted, this has been our first opportunity, also had near side front mudguard repaired, damaged by stones and bad roads. Nice dept also supplied me with 20. Litres of Castrol X.L. oil, a saving of approx 50% on cost per tin. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Dodd. | ||
