HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/AL.31.12.40. ALUMINIUM CASTINGS FOR 40 mm. GUN. 2 We spoke to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} about the question of Vickers producing the remainder of the production order for the 40 mm. gun for the Admiralty. He agreed that Vickers could do the lot. I suggest that Vickers forthwith put 50 sets of castings in hand in No: 1. Grade material and in the meantime we test the bits in the 2nd. Grade material. If the 2nd. Grade alloy stands up satisfactorily, the remainder of the production order can be made in this material. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
