Special Types of Rotameter

In all cases where standard Rotameters cannot be used or are not entirely suitable, special types can be supplied, made to suit each particular purpose.
The illustrations show a number of special types.
Enquiries for special instruments are requested accompanied by full details of requirements and working conditions.

500 Small Orifice Rotameter with strip orifice plate. The meter and baffle-plate form one unit which can be removed from the pipe line. Particular application in air defence installations.
501 Small Main Flow Rotameter for small quantities and downward flow.
502 Special type for laboratory use.
503 Simple Rotameter for low pressure, with screw connections.
504 Rotameter with contact releasing device when flow falls below a prescribed minimum. The instrument is provided with rubber sleeves for connection to the pipe line, but can be supplied with metal fittings.
505 Draught gauge for chimneys and other purposes, for low pressures of abt. 3 to 10 mm. w. g.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} and higher pressures to abt. 300 mm. w. g.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp}
506 Piccometer, economical instrument for neutral substances and low pressure; short scale, screw connections.
507 Control instrument for one specific rate flow, indicated by one calibration mark.
508 Rotameter for opaque Light Oils, with extended float and indirect indication.
509 Simple Main Flow Rotameter for neutral liquids with meter tube cemented in, for horizontal pipe line.
510 Control instrument as Fig. 507, but with screw connections and three point scale.
511 Pitot tube with Rotameter indicating pressure or the velocity of flow in meters per second. After ascertaining the position for mean flow velocity the scale may be stated in m³/h.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}

Rotameters with magnetic Indication and Recording

for opaque fluids and for very high pressures

The metal or glass metering tube has an iron-cored float which is magnetically coupled with an external magnet suspended in a state of balance.
The float cannot lose the magnet and if forcibly separated picks it up again immediately. The diagram is evenly divided and may be evaluated with a planimeter.

600 Rotameter for opaque liquid at 50 atms. gauge pressure, for quantities to about 2 m³/h.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}
601 Standard type as Fig. 600, but for small pressures and pipe lines of about 15 to 25 mm. and quantities to about 300 l/h.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}
602 Standard type for translucent liquids with indication and electro-magnetic registration for pipe lines of about 1" to 2½". A.{Mr Adams} C. current required.
603 Rotameter for liquid under 35 atms. gauge pressure and 220° C., with magnetic registration and indication. No electric current required.
604 Rotameter with registration, for hot opaque liquids with heating jacket to heat the metering tube with hot water or steam led through the jacket. No electric current required.
605 Rotameter with indication and registration for metering wet Chlorine gas. The metering tube is glass to eliminate corrosion. Float of silver with iron core for pipe lines from about 1" to 2½". No electric current required.
