Mr. de Salamanca says that the springs of his car are too weak and that it bumps badly.

If this car is not fitted with shock absorbers to the back wheels, I should think it had better come back to have the springs seen to and to have the shock absorbers fitted.

In any case, in consequence of Mr. de Salamanca's feeling that the car is dangerous to drive at even 60 miles an hour because it will not hold the road, it does not appear to be a fit car for demonstration purposes on the Continent, at any rate in the hands of Mr. de Salamanca.

What suggestions have you to make?

Is our man at Nice a good judge in such matters, and could we get him to go out on Mr. de Salamanca's car? If so, he should be telegraphed to to arrange this, and asking him to arrange it, and both of them should be given to understand that the object of the demonstration is to find out why the car does not hold the road at high speed.

Maddocks should be telegraphed to to take part in the trial.
