SS.{S. Smith} OIL BASE & FILTER. X7190

Blueprints LeC. 2680. and 2682. herewith shew die cast oil filter case with port facing forward and rearward facing passage to middle web of base.

We found it was not possible to move this middle web far owing to space being required for packing the gland on the pipe so we have left it unaltered.

Derby are getting on very well with the present filter case turned round we understand.

Regarding the extra half gallon of oil, the end con. rods will dip on a 1 in 5 gradient either way and it might therefore be advisable for practical road tests to be made before we commit ourselves to the increased amount by altering the level gauge.
