FAULTS REPORTED. | ATTENTION GIVEN. Enamel peeling off cylinder heads under the rocker cover after a few thousand miles. | Lab. reports that the Gascoid jointing in the rocker cover gave a distinctly acid reaction, which tends to corrosion of metal. Gascoid joints were used in place of Vellumoid for cheapness. Instructions have been given to return to Vellumoid joints. Dynamo failures due to oil on the commutator, which comes from the geared box for the rev. counter. | The present position is not fool proof. Owners are apt to over-fill the box with oil. The design is to be made so that oil will drain away irrespective of over-filling. [Handwritten]: scheme completed. Carburetter throttle not closing. Four items which affect this are:- 1. Accelerator pedal bearing. 2. Stretch of throttle spring. 3. Distortion of throttle body by over-tightening of joint flange. 4. Nut on control rod from countershaft fouling lever. | The accelerator pedal bearing has been made with more clearance which is now in production, and Depot sheet issued. The position of the throttle spring is receiving attention. [Handwritten: scheme submitted to exptl] Distortion of throttle body is receiving attention. [Handwritten: corrugated washer issue to expt R] The ball pin on the control rod is to be the same as 25/30 for future production. Depots have to set the rod so that the nut is held clear. There is no other remedy for previous production. [Handwritten: Instructions for production] Facia Board Lighting speedometer and Rev. Counter. | A new board is being made with different arrangement of instruments and concave dials. This is to be submitted to sales when completed. [Handwritten]: M Series completed. Sg{Arthur F.
