1256 Experimental Department. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GTS.1/JMS. 9.5.40. The Light Production Co. Ltd., 60/66, Rochester Row, Westminster, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. C. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Brooks. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter dated May 3rd. We see no reason why you should not incorporate your usual machining spigot in the skirt. Regarding the grinding of the skirt, our intention is, while trying your form of grinding on split skirt pistons, we do not wish to entirely lose touch with our own method. We are, therefore, looking into the possibility of doing this operation on our own machines, if the facilities are still available. Failing this, we shall either send you the tackle, or sufficient information about it to enable you to do the job. In the meantime you will, of course, proceed up to this stage, but we shall let you know something within a few days. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
