Coverley - Production Engineer} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}2/HP.26.10.36. Phantom III - Oil Pressure Filters. --------------------------- In regard to the trouble experienced of the sludging up of the small filter for the hydraulic tappets, it has been decided to try a more effective gauze in the main pressure filter. We send you herewith LeC.5342 showing this, which consists of slipping over an additional frame and coarse gauze over the present star shaped filter. At the same time we want to be sure that the bypass valve will not open under cold conditions, which means increasing the spring pressure to twice the amount. This is shewn on LeC.5338. A further move that we have in hand is to make a settling chamber and a better flow through of the oil, but this will mean a new pot. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} LeC.5342) LeC.5338) herewith. | ||
