Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/RH.{R. Hollingworth}22.8.41. RATIONALIZED CYLINDER BLOCKS At the present time, we have an admirable opportunity of getting all the castings we want out of the Iron Foundry since they are short of work. As soon as the drawing work on tank installation is completed, we want to finish off the drawings for the range of 4-cyl, 6-cyl, and 8-cyl. engines and get them into the pattern shop. As soon as the patterns are finished, we want to obtain the castings for these sizes, which do not at present exist. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} will ensure that pistons are available for all sizes so that when the blocks are finished, there will be nothing to prevent us completing the engines. When instructions for the blocks are issued, instructions for cylinder heads should go out at the same time. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
