40 m/m Gun Mounting.

Adjusting Washers for Trunnion Pins.

We send you herewith print of QPL.153 showing modifications necessary to deleted adjusting washers.

The main scheme shows a general tightening up of limits, with .075 added to flange thickness on the Trunnion pins.

The trunnion bushes after pressing into the cradle will require facing square after reaming the bore to obtain the minus .002 limit.

The view of the trunnion pin on the left shows a suggestion for modifying existing pins, (we understand there are 36 sets in stock). The pins will require setting up to remove material from the flange thickness, in order that we may have .100 minimum thickness of washers.

All existing cradle assemblies will require individual selection of parts.

Will Ve. please indicate his approval of the job, in order that the people manufacturing these parts can be notified of the modification as soon as possible.
