Running Engines.

LE8/C/13.3.35.

This is a very controversial point at the present moment. The only reason why the engine should be run fast when idling is to prevent cylinder wear. In our experience cylinder wear is not one of our troubles; in fact, if a re-bore is required before 50,000 miles it is usually out of the ordinary. Therefore we say there is not very much justification for altering our procedure. Recent evidence has indicated that it is not a good thing to run slowly for a long time when cold.
