For the attention of N.R. Chandler Esq. Dear Sirs, 1110/bal We have to acknowledge your letter of the 2nd instant with regard to a pair of 10.5" x 8.4" x .187" clutch discs in Ferodo VG.90 material. We regret that these linings are specified on the Packing Note "to your order of 27.4.38", and this is, of course, a mistake. The two linings should be invoiced to you free of charge. The reason for despatching these to you is the result of the discussion between yourself, Mr. Longley and the writer with regard to the special bronze linings which you have been fitting as replacement facings for the obsolete clutch which had a narrow lining. You will no doubt recollect that we were all of the opinion that this type of facing might prove even more successful than the bronze on this old type of clutch layout.
