Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
Chapel-en-le-Frith.

For the attention of Mr. Shilton.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 3rd. inst. advising us that the two discs are being supplied free of charge.

As mentioned in conversation by the writer, we regret that we have no facilities for testing out these facings experimentally, also owing to the fact that in this now obsolete type of clutch, the facings are attached to the driving members and we find that distortion of the driven plate results from excessive temperature when fabric facings are used, no matter how good the facings may be so far as the rate of wear is concerned.

If however you could let us have a few 11" Borg & Beck size discs in S.7732, we would be glad to try them. The actual size could be anything between 10.875 and 11" dia. bore from 6.5 to 6.75 according to the size of discs you may have available.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
