X.3188 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. to BJ. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 19th September. 1917. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/NJ19917. Claudel-Hobson Carburetters. This morning we have had a visit from Mr. Hamilton Hobson, Managing Director of Messrs. H.M. Hobson Ltd., who left with us some information regarding a new type of carburetters which his form are introducing and which they have designated their "Type H.C.7" carburetter. I send you herewith copy of the sheet of notes containing all the information we possess. Mr. Hobson is very anxious that we should give these carburetters a trial on our aero engines. I explained to him that many difficulties stood in the way, amongst others the probability that the application of the new carburetters to our design of engine would necessitate alterations. If you desire to have further information regarding the carburetter and should you think it desirable to have a set delivered to us, kindly let me have your instructions. Note encl. | ||
