W/LH{Mr Haworth} - G.W.H. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}3/JH.18.3.36. Wind Tone Horns 22-G-V.{VIENNA} With reference to your report on the above, can you please give us more details of the troubles you are experiencing, and let us know whether or not you consider the trouble to be directly electrical or due to the mounting. One of the horns on 21-G-IV gave trouble and we found that the main feed contact (which is only retained by spring pressure) was loose and by increasing the spring pressure the trouble was overcome. One other point is whether the current taken by the horns is registered on the ammeter on 22-G-V.{VIENNA} If this is so you will find that in the loud position the ammeter needle is hard against the "discharge" stop This feature is of course worse with the head lamps on and in time will no doubt put the ammeter out of action. Wind tone horns have not yet been standardised on the 25/30 HP. chassis, but as sales are crying out for them, we are anxious to get this matter settled. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.Bowering. | ||
