Finally to confirm the relative cranking ability of these alkaline batteries, and to compare this with that of the various representative standard batteries, the curves of whose high rate discharges are given on the accompanying sheet, a series of tests on a standing chassis was made in which the volts, amperes and rolling speed of the engine were observed for each battery in turn operating the starter motor on the chassis.
