X6134 SECRET. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. By C. RV/RD. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD2.5.32. PEREGRINE STARTER MOTOR. We find upon calculation that it should be possible to make a sequence starter motor sufficiently powerful for the Peregrine and Pensport, having an outside carcase diameter of only 3.750". We have assumed a maximum starting torque of 300 lb.inches which upon comparison with the actual measured starting torque of the J.3. engine should be proportionally correct in accordance with the capacity ratio and the same compression ratio figures. Engine speed we have taken as 60 R.P.M. and a gear ratio of 11 to 1. Attached please find copy of our calculations for your reference. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Attachment. | ||
