X 4538 To EB from BJ. Copies to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Wo. BJ8/H7.6.23. Weight of 20 h.p. Chassis. The position, I understand, is as follows:- The original weight agreed by the Works was ....... 2423 lbs. The average weight agreed by the Works was ....... 2462 lbs. The average weight agreed by Sp.{Mr Spinney} was .......... 2475 lbs. The maximum weight now agreed by Works is ....... 2476 lbs. The maximum weight agreed by Sp.{Mr Spinney} is ........... 2499 lbs. The difference between the original weight agreed by the Works ................. 2423 lbs. and the maximum weight now agreed by Works ............. 2476 lbs. shows an increase of ........................... 53 lbs. or nearly ½-cwt. As the Guarantee was agreed by Mr. Royce on the assumption that the weight of the chassis was 2423 lbs., it seems desirable to inform him that we must be prepared to increase it by at least 50 lbs. Please let me know if you agree the above figures. B.J. | ||
