re. Weights of 20-HP Chassis.

With reference to your memo BJ8/H7.6.23. We are afraid we cannot agree to compare the weight of 2423 Lbs. and 2476 Lbs. as they are compared in your memo.

We have pointed out on several occasions that the weight of 2423 Lbs. was the weight of one of the earlier individual chassis (which was one of the few available for weighing at that time) and turned out to be quite an amount below the average 20-HP chassis weight.

In any case, we would not agree that this figure should be compared with the maximum weight of 2476 Lbs. as suggested, as by doing so we are in effect comparing the minimum weight of the early chassis with the maximum weight of the existing chassis.

If, however, a guarantee was agreed upon on the assumption that the chassis weight was 2423 Lbs. we quite agree that some slight revision will be necessary as we agree that the average weight is about 2462 Lbs. which is 39 Lbs. over the weight on which apparently the guarantee was based.
