We shall have:-

(1) China 1. as at present - HP. 57.
(2) China 2. modified, using present head - HP. 70.
(3) China 3. modified, using modified coring to present head - HP. 75.
(4) Japan 1. modified from original slightly - HP. 80.

The HP. given in each case is the approximate maximum peak, with open exhaust.

China 1. can be made into China 2. by scrapping the camshaft, valves, exhaust, etc.

China 2. exhaust pipe is new, and the same as China 3.

China 2. valves and cams are new, but the same as China 3. and Japan 1. - i.e. we want, and can have, only one move to one part, so it must be the best possible, carefully finessed, and up-to-date in design and material.
