Dear Bill, I am afraid that the engine on my motor car is rapidly reaching the stage when something will have to be done for it. The oil consumption is very heavy, and the pistons are noisy, and the engine very rough, which leads me to think that the bearings are slack. It has done about 35,000 miles since anything was done to it, and unless something is done fairly soon I am afraid it will cease to be serviceable. I wonder whether it would be trespassing too much on your generosity to suggest that it should be sent to Belper, together with a mechanic, if you could provide the bits and some supervision? Yours, Richard. W.A. Robotham Esq., Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. | ||
