Y8710 BY1/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 19.1.25. RE "V" & "W" SERIES. It has now been decided that the previous proposals which have held good up to the moment for "V" and "W" Series are to be modified as outlined below:- Up to the present, "V" Series consisted of 100 chassis, and "W" Series of 200 chassis which varied considerably from those produced under "V". As a result of the latest decision, it is decided that "V" Series shall consist of 300 chassis, divided as follows:- a/- The first 150 will be precisely similar to the "V" Series material instructed. b/- The last 150 chassis of the series will only differ from the first 150 in the following particulars:- 1. High radiator. 2. Higher and wider Dashboard. 3. Bonnet to suit. The dimensions of the radiator, bonnet and dash will agree in every particular with those at present arranged for "W" Series, but the Front Cross Member will not be like "W" with its double diagonal stays, but will be arranged precisely similar to the "V" Series Cross Member. In regard to the frame itself, Side Members like "W" Series will be used, as the dies have been modified, and it is just as easy to obtain new side members as the old type. If, however, there is any difficulty at all in regard to the side members, either in the D.O. or the Order Office, we will revert to the "V" Series side member, so that the frame for "V" Series will then be precisely similar to the old "V". Will the D.O. kindly re-issue instructions to cover 300 cars at present ordered for "V" and "W", arranging to have same made in the manner described. Contd. | ||
