X.3656 - PLATINUM IRIDIUM CONTACT POINTS WITH REDUCED AMOUNT OF PLATINUM.

We have now obtained from Messrs. W.H. Reynolds 25% iridium platinum contact points with reduced amount of platinum, but of platinum rivet diameter equal to our standard, namely, .150". Thus these points would be exactly as we are proposing to standardise. A bench test and tests on an experimental car will be made on these points, and it occurs to us that you might like to have one of these sets for running on 6-EX.

Similar points to these but of the smaller diameter .125" have been running on 2 EX for about 2,000 miles and up to the present are quite satisfactory. The price quoted for the present points with the larger diameter is 11/- per pair in hundred pair lots. The price we now pay for standard platinum points is £1.6.8d per pair.
