EXTRACT FROM :- X7470 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVL/M26.6.30. REPORT ON TESTS OF COMPLETED CARS. (11) Regarding P.2. pedal stems it was demonstrated that if one was rather hurriedly forced to apply the brake and pressed at the top of the plate the pedal stem was bent anything up to 1/4" and caused it to bind on the edges of the metal plate on the sloping boards. We have recently sent you a design for adjustable pedal stems and we suggest that the stem in the clutch and brake pedal be increased from .437 to .5 when doing these adjustable stems. This would be an increase in stiffness in the ratio of .0366 to .0625, or approx: 100%. | ||
