x4694 339 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.3/HP.2.10.34. re SpectreCodename for Phantom III. We should be glad if you would take manometer readings at different places in the water circulation of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III engine, with a view to determining where resistance to flow is encountered. Actually the water pump is not so very feeble compared with the SpectreCodename for Phantom III, as the appended table of tip speeds of the rotor should indicate. By modifying the design of the pump we can increase the diameter of the rotor by about .75, but we are of the opinion that the present pump is not being allowed to do this work by some obstruction to flow in the system.
