Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Leslie. We look forward to receiving from you as arranged a general arrangement drawing showing the water pump employing a Packless Gland. We understand that you have arranged for the bellows to be changed from 1.13/16" to 1.7/8" and that a further increase would cause you inconvenience in assembly. This is a pity as we should very much like to have used the 2" bellows shown on our original drawing, but in the circumstances we will endeavour to give you a really satisfactory gland employing either 1.7/8" or 1.13/16" bellows. As we told you the 1.13/16" bellows has very shallow convolutions, and is therefore unusually stiff, and the same remarks apply in a lesser degree to the 1.7/8" bellows. If on second thoughts it is possible for you to arrange to take the 2" bellows we should like to hear from you.
