We are arranging with Mr. Knight of the Philco Radio Co., to make a personal inspection of Eg's car and try out the same in view of the remarkable results obtained with regard to freedom from interference.

Another trouble which customers experience on our cars is interference caused by static current in the brake mechanism, and on Eg's car Messrs. Hoopers have earthed the brake rods and brake ropes direct to the frame by means of flexible strips. This brake mechanism interference is often more than that experienced by interference from the sparking plugs, and although little is known as to the exact cause of the interference, we think it is due to the brake drum acting as a miniature Wimshurst machine.

We are conducting experiments ourselves to see if it is possible to earth the brake mechanism more effectively by means of a brush fitted to the wheel cap bearing on the centre of the hub.
