26.G.VI. - 25/30 HP.

This car is now ready to start running mileage.
In addition to the usual routine inspection, the following work has been carried out.

I) 12 valve grummets with 6 ft. of material instead of 4 ft. fitted.

2) 6 - EB.3256 Valve springs made in Swedish wire by R.H. (painted green) fitted to Nos. I - 6.

3) 12 increased diameter 5/16" push-rods fitted.

4) Front rocker shaft pedestal with hexagon head location screw and lock plate fitted.

5) Tappets set .008" hot as instructed.

6) Sample of engine oil taken for record.

7) Throttle set just off stop with accelerator right down. This has reduced the hammering felt on the pedal on full throttle.

8) Choke control correctly set. This was found to be 3/7 of the way closed in the weak position. We are hoping this was the only cause of the 9.4 m.p.g. petrol consumption from Boulogne here.

9) Clutch pedal set to come on carpets before pedal lever comes against stop on crankcase. Crankcase cleared away to give more sideways clearance above stop.
Head of pinch bolt for pedal adjustment reduced in thickness to clear crankcase where fouling.
Slotted pedal stem shortened as end was fouling crankcase. This has overcome the hammering on the clutch pedal when fully depressed, but it is no longer adjustable.

IO) Alignement of gear lever improved by re-fitting onframe. This reduced knocks produced by extreme engine movements.

II) Load on torque rubbers increased to cut down engine movements, which were affecting the pedals and gear lever too much.
