Experiments on test plate, standard engine firing on intermediate plugs, clutch was taken out; when firing on No 6 cyl the crankshaft whipped vertically measured with Starrett's Indicator with the clutch ring removed it still whipped, higher compression made it worse. The front end of the crankshaft when firing on No 1 whipped but not as bad as No 6.
Worst shuddering speed about 400 revs.
