x500a HOTEL DE FRANCE. CHATEAUROUX. Indre. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/I3/JAB. France. IIth July 1936. To. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 22. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} V.{VIENNA} PETROL PUMP BASE. The petrol pump on this car has been flexible mounted during the mileage in France. The specification does not say so, therefore, may be, you were unaware of it. It was mentioned at the meeting that this mounting could not be used, owing to the pump end fouling the bonnet. This has not been the case with 22.G.V. and we cannot see the reason why the curved bracket was necessary. When the new bracket arrived here, I. Waller not being aware that it was designed to go on the aluminium bracket, had fitted it to the existing flexible mounting, which ofcourse was wrong. We have altered it. His report that the pipes carry the noise is in a manner correct, but the volume of the noise heard via the pipes, no one would object to. The Base fitted to 22.G.V. was to D/O D.548I2. The one sent out D.548II A.C. ----------------- [Signature] G.W.H. | ||
