| 1021. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.6/ET. 8th August, 1941. Messrs. Weathershields, Ltd., Moor Street, B I R M I N G H A M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} For the attention of Mr. Taylor. Dear Sirs, Confirming our telephone conversation this morning, we should like you to supply us with another set of sliding roof fittings, as previously supplied to our Drawing No. RB.{R. Bowen}15001. Please arrange that the complete set of fittings is rust proofed. On the set of fittings which you have already supplied, we have found several faults, as follows:- The ramp on which the locking bar rests was not in the correct position. This had to be moved back. The rear slides were of your standard type and not suitable for the channelling which was fitted to this roof. The edges of the channel slides were very rough and had to be filed. The drain holes were partly closed when the drain tubes were welded in. The centre slide was not rust proofed. No packing strips were fitted. If you would give these points your attention we should be obliged, as you will appreciate that it is unsatisfactory to have filing or welding done after rust proofing. Our official order will follow. Yours faithfully, | ||
