Dear Sirs,

Flexible Glands - Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1077.

We thank you for your letter of the 8th Feb. and agree that it is not desirable to expose the bellows of the above gland to possible damage from stones.

We are enclosing Drg. No. BGA. 1687 showing a suggestion for protecting them. The guard is a light press fit on the outside diameter of the packing carrier and if you think it desirable can be continued to cover and protect the rotating joint.

We are not very keen on either of the schemes shown on your drawing since in both cases the soldered joint of the bellows is masked and as a result might give trouble.

If you would like us to make up a sample pressing we shall be very pleased to do so.

Yours truly,
THE PACKLESS GLAND CO. LTD.

W.Martin-Hurst.
Director.

Drg. enclosed.
